ESB Financial is proud to welcome Ryan Arndt as one of the newest members of the ESB Financial Board of Directors.

A dedicated rancher and lifelong Kansan, Arndt brings hands-on experience in agriculture, deep-rooted values, and a strong understanding of the importance of community-based banking to the board. He was appointed to the ESB Board of Directors in March.

“I grew up helping my dad and uncle with the cattle, and that’s how I got into ranching,” Arndt said. “This land and lifestyle have always been home.”

Arndt manages his family’s cattle operation in the Flint Hills and appreciates the advantages of doing business in a tight-knit, rural community.

“It’s nice having what we need close—whether it’s parts, equipment, feed, banking, or vet services. We rely on those relationships,” he said. “Working in agriculture has taught me to plan for the unexpected and to appreciate the value of a good bank that’s there when I need them.”

As someone who believes in being consistent and reliable, Arndt values strong, personal relationships, especially with financial partners.

“A strong relationship with a local bank is important because you have a personal connection with the people you’re dealing with. Character can be worth more than numbers on paper,” Arndt said. “When it comes to running a business, my advice is simple: have a plan and stick to it.”

Arndt hopes to bring a valuable perspective to ESB leadership by sharing insight on current issues and trends facing today’s farmers and ranchers.

“We’re excited to welcome Ryan to the board,” said ESB President and CEO Michael Black. “He represents the hardworking individuals of rural Kansas and understands what it takes to build strong businesses and communities. His voice will be an asset to the bank’s future.”

The 2025 ESB Board of Directors includes: James C Wayman, Karen W Sommers, Kent Glasscock, Lyle A Butler, Michael Black, Jeremy Rusco, Cory Haag, Ryan Arndt, and Jeff Longbine.
